I am LISA KISS. I was trained as a painter in the tradition of the Old Masters, long before I ever picked up a length of silk.
At Penland School of Craft in North Carolina, a class in painting on fabric revealed what would become my life’s work and purpose.
My designs draw from century old painters—from Hokusai, Pompeian frescoes to Botticelli, Klee, and Klimt—translated into patterns and illustrative stories on cloth.
Today, I create small-batch artful scarves meant to be worn, loved, and eventually passed along—not kept behind glass.
